Once in a while, Austria’s largest lake freezes over and turns into an incredible playground for skaters and wind enthusiasts. It was my first time experiencing Neusiedlersee like this — and it felt incredible.

I took these photos with my new Sony RX100 VII. I was looking for a camera I could always carry with me. Compared to my full-frame cameras it’s not as sharp, it noisy, the dynamic range is limited, and the handling isn’t great — but it fits perfectly in my jacket pocket while wing skating, and that made all the difference.

My favorite motive are people with their vast array of characters. I love emotions, both positive and negative. Taking pictures is one way to express them. Seeing the joy in the eyes of people photographed, once they see their pictures, is very satisfying. I like neverending hikes and I like to observe. Observe the world wihout judgements, and I like meeting people other then me. I think that world and and people around me are the most thhrilling movie I could ever watch.
