Wedding Photographer Vienna

Hi, I am glad you found your way on my website, let me introduce myself. I am an international wedding photographer based in Vienna, Austria. I am married and have a young son. I am originally from Slovakia, did my Masters in Prague and have been living in Austria for the last decade. I speak German, English and Slovak. I started my career in the banking industry, but my heart longed for something else.

Photography has always been a hobby of mine and I decided to follow my dream to become a full time photographer. When I was a small boy I used to go fishing. Photography is similar, I just fish for right moments. Mark Twain once said: “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” For me it took more than a day, but I now do what I love most. When I take pictures I just feel happy.

I have an easy going approach to life and concentrate on things that matter. I am aware that every day could be my last and try to live life to its fullest. I love spending time with my family and friends. I like random encounters with people I do not know and I like not to have a plan. I think that the world and people around me are the most thrilling movie I could ever watch. And now tell me something about you...

It is amazing how Lukas captures emotions in a picture. Every single one of the hundreds of pictures he took at our wedding is a piece of art. The way how he masters exposure, light and perspective is outstanding.

What is your photographic style? If I had to describe my approach to photography with one word it would be “authenticity.” I aim to photograph who people are, instead of how they look like.

On your wedding day, during the preparations and the ceremony you will hardly notice me. When shooting your portraits, I will look for the right composition and lighting, I will guide you and inspire you with ideas, and then ask you to forget about me and just enjoy your time together. This way the pictures look natural and fun. During the reception I join the crowd and leverage from my experience of shooting musical concerts in difficult lighting conditions.

In general I try to interact with the guests throughout the day as I do not want to be the strange man with a big camera in the corner.  I believe that a wedding photographer, apart from delivering excellent pictures, should also contribute to the good atmosphere and make your special day perfect.

What should we consider prior booking you as our wedding photographer? Firstly please have a detailed look on my portfolio, especially whole day wedding reportages, as this shows how I work in different light environments. If you like what you see, please send me a request and we can meet for a coffee or a Skype session to discuss all details in person. There is also a possibility to “test” me before signing at an engagement session.

How do we secure the date? The date is secured upon the signing of a contract. I often get several requests for the same date, and therefore cannot accept reservations.

What are your rates? Day Packages start at 2000 EUR. Please send me a request for more details.

When should we plan our portrait session? Photography is all about light, which is best in the morning and before sunset. I recommend having a portrait session before the ceremony, and another shorter one right after dinner at sunset.  Of course the wedding schedule and weather does not always allow for it and being flexible is my second job. In my opinion the portrait session delivers the most beautiful pictures of the couple and it is worth to plan enough time for it.

When is the right time to book? Most weddings take place on Saturdays and the dates tend to book out quickly. A good time is about 1 year prior to the wedding.

Do you work with a second shooter? Usually I work on my own, but there is a possibility of a second shooter. I would recommend this option for bigger weddings, with more than 150 guests.

Do you also offer wedding albums? Yes. Nothing compares to the feeling when you see your stunning pictures printed large and touch your hand-made fine art album. Have a look here.

Do you travel for weddings? Absolutely. I am based in Vienna, but I am more than happy to travel to any part of the world.

How many pictures do we get? You will get all post-processed pictures (app. 500 for a full day wedding) ready for print in full resolution.

When and how do we get our images? You will receive your images one month after your wedding day latest. I will send you a link to an online gallery with all adjusted images. You can download all or only selected images in full resolution. You can also create your favorites and share it with your family or friends.
